Hi, I'm Kate.
Nice to meet you. I'm a Communications student at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, with a concentration in Digital Media Innovation. I'm also the Executive Producer for Beacon Web News, the Vice President & Copy Editor for The Beacon, and the DJ behind 'The Magpie' on WJJW.

I plan to graduate in May of 2026, and will be available for work. I have particular interest in video editing, video/audio production, and educational media.
ABOUT ME
Kate Zelkowitz is a born-and-raised New Englander, hailing from a small town 45 minutes north of Boston. She graduated from Ipswich High School in May of 2020, before attaining an associates degree in liberal arts from North Shore Community College in the spring of 2022. She is currently a junior at Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA), pursuing a B.A in Communications, with a concentration in Digital Media Innovation and a minor in History.
Kate is the Vice President & Copy Editor for The Beacon, the Executive Producer of BWN, and hosts the weekly radio show "The Magpie" on WJJW, MCLA's college radio station. She is also a member of MCLA Athletic's Livecast Production Team.

Outside of her education, Kate is the Executive Producer and Exhibition Coordinator for Verse/Visual, an annual exhibition combining poetry and prose with visual and performing art.​​ When not out on assignment or in her "editing cave," Kate loves spending time with her two cats and watching baseball. She is also a former specialty espresso barista and makes a mean cup of coffee.​
